Immenses
During the Immense Festival in Brussels, I filmed performances, talks, and encounters, weaving them into a short teaser that captures the spirit of the event: a space where art meets social action.
The festival is organized by the Syndicat des immenses, whose name is an acronym for “Individu dans une Merde Matérielle Énorme mais Non Sans Exigences” — individuals living in extreme material precarity, yet with rights and demands. Far from being a discussion group, the Syndicat is a pressure and action group, advocating for the rights of the “immense,” regularly intervening in public spaces, participating in events
The Syndicat des immenses is a collective demanding housing and dignity for “the immense” (people in non housing or insecure housing) and declares: “No democracy without a home for all!” Through the camera the festival becomes a space where voices seeking shelter and solidarity meet movement, image and community.
